10 year old dream
I used to make cornbread in Ann Arbor. I would take three packages of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix, stir in some cut corn, and then bake it in a cake pan.
I distinctly remember preheating the oven. Opening the boxes. Cracking the eggs. Pouring out the milk. Dumping in the cut corn. Mixing, mixing mixing. Buttering and flouring the pan. Pouring in the batter. Putting it in the oven. Rinsing out the mixing bowl in the sink. Then I went to bed.
I woke up in the middle of the night, sat up in bed, and thought --oh no! I fell asleep! The cornbread must be burnt to a crisp! Worried, I walked into the kitchen, put on an oven mitt, and opened the oven. It was cold. There was no cornbread; there was no mixing bowl in the sink.
I had dreamed the entire recipe. And I was hungry for some cornbread. :(

Jiffy! I like Jiffy. I think I drove by the Jiffy factory a few times then. I want some Jiffy corn bread.
i thought doris talked you out of jiffy mix, once she threatened to buy uncle ben's instant rice and make it in front of you.
