NBC's Teachers: Must-change-the-channel TV

Go read the Education Wonks for their review of NBC's new pile of crap show Teachers. I'm too lazy to review it for you myself.

Suffice it to say that us real teachers are much funnier and much much more professional than what the writers came up with.

It's such a cookie cutter sitcom-formula, with the single variable dialed to "public high school." They must have known they were in hot water to begin with, because the beautiful british damsel appears in the pilot episode, rather than introduced halfway through a season when the series needs a new face to class up the joint.

Sigh. They used the word "gay" as an insult. The protagonist had a beer in his classroom. The classy british love interest believed the protagonist was a good teacher because he told a slacker to go home and read. Gimme a break.
