Westwood

Today H and I went to Westwood Center, a newish shopping mall in the southwest. I like it. It's new, interesting, quiet, has a nice fountain/river, and has NO EASTSIDERS (nor might-as-well-be-eastsiders).

Someday, us left-coasters are going to remember how to mix housing and retail in the same building; then finally we'll have sustainable urban density (assuming our trains get built). The dense-o-phobes are worried that we are one step away from becoming Hong Kong dense. Trust me, we are several steps away from being Hong Kong.

Besides, Knute, you live in Kirkland. How about if we Seattlites choose our own destiny?
