Daytime TV
Staying home for Memorial Day gave me a taste of what summer break is going to be like. Yay! Unfortunately, while cleaning the kitchen, I had the misfortune of having the tv on to THE VIEW.
I'm not going to link, besides, you know the drill. The younger white woman is a clueless conservative. They were talking about sex ed and contraception, and miss clueless starts going off on how kids should not be told about condoms. She quoted somebody, saying something like 'it sends the wrong message.' 'It's like saying 'don't drink and drive, but if you do drink and drive, wear a seatbelt.' 'It just sends the wrong message.'
IDIOT.
Don't drink and drive! Always wear a seatbelt!
Don't have unprotected sex! DUH.
Abstinence and exclusively monogomous marriage are a fine ideals for christians. People can choose that lifestyle. However, it's the state's responsibility to prevent the spread of disease, regardless of the moral approval of christians.
What kind of christian ministry allows people to get infected, spread disease, and then die from something completely preventable? Is that what Jesus taught us? Shame.

it's the kind of christianity where orthodoxy rather than common sense is common sense.
